Lunch Period
All students eat lunch in school and are to obey the lunch proctors at all times. Students are expected to be respectful and quiet while eating. If a student continually misbehaves, he/she may lose recess privilege, be given a detention or the parent will be notified that the child is no longer permitted to eat in school. Students are responsible for the cleanliness of the tables and chairs in the Auditorium whenever they are used at lunch time.
Glass containers are not permitted for the safety of the students.
Parents are encouraged to pack lunches in reusable containers. Paper bags are discouraged. Containers for recycling are
located in the classrooms, hallways and auditorium. Out of respect for the Earth, students are encouraged to use them. Can tabs are recycled in a large plastic container near the Snapple machine in the auditorium. They are used for Ronald McDonald’s Houses, where families of sick children stay in order to be near their children in the hospital.
Pretzels are sold on Wednesday for $.50, ices for $.25 and pizza for $2.00 on Friday. A Snapple machine is available for canned drinks and water for $1.00. Snapple may be purchased before the bell rings in the morning or during the lunch period.
Recess
All students are given a recess as part of their lunch break. In fair weather, recess takes place outside. During this time, students are given the opportunity to play in designated areas or socialize with their friends.
No parent is permitted in the schoolyard at any time unless for supervision of students during recess.
Due to limited play areas, no ball playing or running may take place during recess. Students are reminded to respect the lunch parents at all times.
Toys and electronic devices, such as electronic games, ipods and CD players are not permitted in school. Trading cards, how-ever, are permitted at recess only.
